For years, much to my youngest daughter's consternation I would never listen to radio or music in the car; it was always silent – I loved the quiet of driving, I found it calming.
Then one day I was clearing out some old books from my Mum's house and came across some books I had read when I was a teenager and in my early 20’s.
Instead of re-reading them all, I now have a list that I play as audiobooks and my car is no longer the cone of silence – not that it will make my daughter any happier to ride in the car with me 😉
Currently I am reading (listening to) “Kane and Able” by Jeffrey Archer which I probably read when I was about 20 – just such an easy listen, no thinking involved! I will also listen to "Not a penny more not a penny less" by him as well - a really fun read especially if you like a bit of sweet revenge.
Next I’m planning to read some Robert Ludlum, in particular “The Bourne Identity” - definitely the best in the series - as well as another by him called “The Holcroft Covenent”; a very good read if you like conspiracy theories about society being manipulated by secret societies- lots of fun!
Of course I'll re-read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and some Stephen King - an amazing storyteller - famous for so many books including “The Shawshank Redemption” which was originally a short story of his.
Are you reading any old classics that I should add to my list?
